The family of a Newbridge man missing for more than a month have said they need to prepare for the worst.
Kyle Vaughan, 24, has been missing since December 30 and Gwent Police investigating the disappearance are treating it as a murder inquiry.
Mr Vaughan’s family, in a statement, have said someone is withholding information.
They said: “We would like to appeal for information again regarding the disappearance of our son.
“It has been one month since we last saw him and we are utterly devastated that we still don’t know what’s happened to him. There is a huge gap in our lives and we realise we need to prepare for the worst possible outcome.
“Our son has never harmed anyone, but we think there may be somebody out there who is withholding vital information and therefore we would ask them to come forward and help us to understand what has happened to Kyle.
“We want people to know that they can pass information to the police completely anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111. Thank you.”
Eight arrests have been made in relation to the investigation so far. All have been bailed pending further inquiries.
The last believed sighting of Mr Vaughan, who is diabetic, was on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys, sometime between 11pm and 11.45pm on Sunday December 30 2012. It is believed he was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, three-quarter length denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.
On the same night at approximately 11.45pm, officers found Mr Vaughan’s car – a silver Peugeot 306 – which had been involved in a collision.
A Facebook group appealing for information to help the inquiry has attracted 16,500 members.
