New volunteers for Caerphilly’s Drug and Alcohol Youth Support team

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:00, Friday February 22nd, 2013.

DAYS, the Drug and Alcohol Youth Support team in the Caerphilly borough, is to welcome four new members following a successful appeal for volunteers.

Working to provide information, support and advice to young people about issues around substance misuse, DAYS recently made an appeal offering full training and for anyone interested in improving the lives of young people in the borough.

Following a successful response, the four new volunteers have been recruited and will begin working with the team over the next few weeks.

Anna Lewis, Senior DAYS worker, said: “We are delighted with the response to the recent appeal for volunteers we made across the Caerphilly borough and we look forward to welcoming the new volunteers to our team.

“DAYS is a very rewarding service to work with and thanks to the pledges of support our new volunteers have made we will now be able to expand on our work in the community, getting out and delivering messages and advice to many more young people living in the borough.”

For details of further volunteering opportunities with DAYS or if you or a young person you know is aged 18 or under and worried about substance misuse please contact DAYS on freephone 0808 168 7176.
