Canmol Marketing awards launched

Business, News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:20, Thursday July 4th, 2013.

Caerphilly businesses are being urged to enter the 2013 Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Canmol, which means “to praise” in Welsh, was created in 2008 to promote excellence in the marketing industry in Wales.

Caerphilly has produced two Canmol winners in recent years, including a campaign from Catnic and DS Smith Recycling’s Jade Bourke, who scooped the title of New Marketer in 2011.

From SMEs to large corporate firms and from public to private sector, Canmol is open to all business communities from across the country.

This year the awards will introduce categories for the first time, offering sector-based awards for the manufacturing, tourism, creative and technology industries.

The coveted titles of ‘Outstanding Contribution’ and ‘New Marketer’ will remain to recognise individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the industry.

A panel of 15 business and marketing experts will judge entries under the Chairmanship of Dr Jonathan Deacon, Newport Business School and member of the CIM Board of Trustees.

Entries must be submitted by July 31 via www.canmol.com with winners announced at a glittering awards dinner, to be held at Cardiff City Hall in October.

Richard Houdmont, Director for Wales of The Chartered Institute of Marketing, said: “Canmol has gone from strength to strength since the launch of the Awards in 2008 and we’re excited to be building on its success with a fresh new format. The introduction of categories gives CIM the opportunity to judge entrants in the context of their peers.”

To enter Canmol: Wales Marketing Awards 2013 visit www.canmol.com and complete the application form by Wednesday, 31 July 2013. Entries will be subject to a £25 admin fee. Tickets to the awards dinner may be purchased at www.cim.co.uk/56626 or by calling 01628 427340.
