Two people arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan have been released without charge.

Gwent Police said a 22-year-old woman from Newbridge, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and a 21-year-old Newbridge man, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have both been released with no further action.

A 27-year-old man from Blackwood arrested on suspicion of murder has had his bail extended until April 2014 as has a 25-year-old man, also from Blackwood and slo arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 15-year-old boy from Abercarn arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender is due to answer bail on answering bail on Friday December 6.

Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan, 24, was last seen on December 30 last year when his damaged silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.

Known to friends as ‘Jabbers’, the former Cwmcarn High School pupil is suspected to have been murdered.

Last month detectives said they believed one vital piece of information could be enough to solve the case.

Detective Chief Superintendent Peter Jones, head of Gwent Police CID, said: “There is still information out there which has not been passed to the police.

“It might be that one missing piece of the jigsaw which brings everything together.”
