Gwent PCC public meeting in Newbridge

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 15:00, Tuesday January 14th, 2014.

Gwent’s Police and Crime Commissioner is urging the public to attend a series of meetings with him to discuss the force’s policing issues.

In Caerphilly County Borough, Ian Johnston will be holding a surgery between 10am and 12pm on January 28 at Newbridge Memo.

Urging people to come along to the surgeries, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Ian Johnston, said: “I want to be visible to the people of Gwent so I can listen to what matters to them locally.

“I’m accountable to the public for the delivery of policing here in Gwent and on their behalf, not only do I hold the Chief Constable to account, I also have a Police and Crime Plan which lets people know what I expect policing to deliver for the region.

“The plan puts victims at the heart of everything we do and ensures that people here are less affected by crime and anti-social behaviour and are protected from serious harm.”
