Caerphilly Business Forum blog: Don’t miss out on tickets for our annual awards

News, Opinion | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Wednesday June 8th, 2011.

In his regular blog for Caerphilly Observer, Andrew Diplock, chair of Caerphilly Business Forum, urges people not to miss out on tickets for the organisation’s annual awards.

Poor Boris Johnson – even he didn’t get tickets for the London Olympics and he’s helping to organise them.

Of course, he’s not alone. A real buzz is already starting to grip the UK even with 14 months to go before the start.

A couple of weeks ago the Olympic ticketing agency even invited people to apply for tickets to the rehearsals for different events. And I bet plenty of people who, like Boris, didn’t get the tickets they wanted for the real thing, will buy them.

Well, I’m pleased to announce that the Olympic tickets are not the only ones generating huge interest at the moment.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Caerphilly Business Forum’s Annual Awards Launch, sponsored by Norgine, is on Friday June 10 at Llancaiach Fawr, near Nelson, and we invited people to come along.

Amazingly, at the beginning of this week we already had 70 people registered just to attend the launch, which is quite remarkable. It shows not only the enormous enthusiasm businesses of all different sizes and from many different sectors have for them but also that there is a real will to make them work.

Sponsors have been quick to step in too and only a few commercial opportunities remain, including the sponsorship of a new award category, details of which we’ll be announcing on Friday.

I can, however, promise it will be a pretty illustrious award and it will really celebrate the success of businesses in Caerphilly County Borough and the success of the Forum.

The count down to the main event itself, in November, really starts on Friday. We won’t be sending an Olympic-style torch around the county borough but we will issue regular updates on progress as well as rallying calls, the first of which I’ll sign off with now;

Caerphilly Business Forum’s annual awards: Don’t miss out like Boris – book your tickets now.
