Firefighters deal with arson attack close to Newbridge Railway Station

Trees were deliberately set on fire close to the railway line in Newbridge this afternoon, June 17.

Firefighters were called to Celynen Road to tackle the blaze which was close to Newbridge Railway Station and the Co-operative supermarket in the town.

A crew from Abercarn were at the scene just after 2.50pm and the fire was out within 20 minutes.

The incident has been referred to Gwent Police.

    The problem is that Newbridge has no police presence at all.
    I complained to ian johnstone about it and was interviewed in the local police station (which is about to be sold off and has never been able to have been used by the public) and nothing was ever done I spoke to them end of last year.
    Waste of time.
