Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in Risca last night, August 27.

The 35-year-old was discovered with stab wounds at a property on Twmbarlwm Close and died after being taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital.

Two local men aged 28 and 33 were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Ian Roberts said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is an isolated incident.  We believe all parties involved were known to each other, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time.

“You will see an increased police presence in the area while the investigation progresses and we carry out house to house enquiries.

“If you have any concerns please contact your local Neighbourhood Policing Team.”

Police and ambulance crews were called to the address at around 8.45pm.
