Michael Lee Emmett has passed away a month after being stabbed in Blackwood

Tributes have been paid to a Blackwood father who died after being stabbed by a 16-year-old boy.

Michael Lee Emmett, 29, and another man were attacked on  Bryn Road and Apollo Way in Blackwood on August 1.

Mr Emmett  passed away on September 2.

A 44-year-old man received hospital treatment for his wounds and has since been released.

Mr Emmett’s partner Natalie paid tribute to the father of twins who is known ans Michaelee by his family.

She said: “Michaelee was a true gentleman, always putting others first, he was a fantastic father to our twin boys and we know he would have adored his first daughter.

“He wasn’t just my partner and father to our children, he was my soul mate, my best friend and was cruelly snatched away too soon, but will never be forgotten and will be loved always.”

The 16-year-old boy pleaded guilty to wounding with intent at Newport Magistrates Court on August 4 and will be sentenced on September 12.
