A macaw has been found on Caerphilly Mountain, far from its natural habitat in Central America.

The RSPCA are searching for the parrot’s owner after it was discovered on the mountain on Friday December 5.

Fiona Jackson of the RSPCA said: “It is unusual that nobody has come forward yet to reclaim this macaw.

“We are appealing to anyone who may know who the bird belongs to, to get in touch.”

Anyone who may have information can contact the RSPCA inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
