Caerphilly-based consultants UES Energy make four key staff appointments

An expanding Caerphilly-based energy consultancy has recruited a new member to their team.

UES Energy, based on Caerphilly Business Park, picked Andy Hutchinson from one of their largest UK competitors for the new role of Client Services Director.

Mr Hutchinson, 40, was previously head of accounts and part of the senior management team at The Energy Brokers, where he had worked for 17 years.

His new role will be to tailor strategies to meet the needs of clients and maintain the company’s client retention rate of 98% per year.

The new post was created after UES Energy developed a management structure to cope with increased demand for its services.

The company, which is 11-years-old, has recorded growth every year. In the year to March 2014, it doubled the amount of energy it managed for clients and now operates across the whole of the UK.

Managing Director Andrew Diplock said: “This is a key appointment for UES Energy. Our strong growth year after year meant we needed to develop the structure of the business, but we took our time to identify the right person.
“Andy helped his previous company grow to become one of the largest in the sector and he was looking for a fresh challenge.

“He realised that UES Energy had similar values to his own, shared a passion for excellent customer service and had the drive and ambition to grow. So we were the ideal match for each other.”

Mr Hutchinson said: “This is the sort of opportunity I was looking for. UES Energy has been making a name for itself on a national scale and has plenty of ambition.

“But the key for me was that we share a similar vision for the future and the values in doing business.

“I am delighted to be joining a company where it is ingrained in everyone to put the customers’ interests first every time, where each customer has a uniquely tailored strategy and where transparency is expected in everything we do.”

Andy is a fitness enthusiast and keen tennis player. He has also run the New York Marathon and is running the 2015 London Marathon with his partner, raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK and The Brain Tumour Charity.

UES has also recently made three key internal appointments.

Luke Roberts has been appointed as an Account Manager after working for the company as an Inside Sales Executive since November 2013.

Joining him is Sara Solmone who has been appointed as a Billing Analyst. Sara first joined UES Energy as a GO Wales placement in December 2012 and has gained valuable experience in various departments since.

And Alistair Sinfield has also been appointed as a Billing Analyst. Alistair joined the company in March 2014 as Operations Support Assistant and has now joined the Key Accounts team to support larger clients with bill validation and billing queries.
