Christmas and New Year medical triage unit planned for Newbridge

News | | Published: 16:00, Friday December 19th, 2014.

Christmas and New Year revellers overindulging on their night out will be treated at a medical triage unit planned for Newbridge.

The unit will cover the Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly County Borough areas on Friday December 19, Saturday December 20 and Wednesday December 31.

The triage will be next to the Otter Pub in Newbridge at Llanarth House and will be open from 7pm until the early hours of the morning.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “There will also be a police officer based at the medical centre to prevent any further issues, including violence.

“Revellers will also be able to talk to an officer should they wish to report a crime. Please make sure that you think about how much you’re drinking over the Christmas and New Year period – have fun and enjoy yourself but don’t end your night in a hospital bed.”
