A 77-year-old man was taken to hospital yesterday, Tuesday December 30, after the car he was driving hit five cars.
The man was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport after his blue Ford Fiesta hit cars parked along Risca Road, in Crosskeys, just before 4pm.
The motorist was later transferred to the University of Hospital Wales in Cardiff. He is said to be in a stable condition.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene of the accident, which happened near Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys campus.
Firefighters from Risca and Malpas attended and the road was later reopened.
