Two men arrested in connection with the murder of missing Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan have been released without charge.

A 29-year-old man and 26-year-old man, both from Blackwood were arrested on suspicion of murder in January 2013.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said they have both been released without charge following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service.

Mr Vaughan, 24, has been missing for more than two years and was last seen on December 30, 2012, when his damaged silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys.

Police believe the car was in a crash and that Mr Vaughan had managed to walk away from it.

Known to friends as ‘Jabbers’, the former Cwmcarn High School pupil is suspected to have been murdered.

The spokesperson said: “The case remains open and enquiries will continue. Any new information that comes to light will be investigated. Officers once again appeal for anyone who may have information relating to this, irrespective of how small or insignificant they may think it is, to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

At the time of his disappearance, police believe Kyle was wearing a dark-coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, three-quarters length denim shorts, white trainers and a gold chain at the time he went missing.

In December last year Detective Chief Superintendent, Peter Jones said the police are “fully committed” to solving the case.
