Caerphilly Observer is celebrating its second anniversary in print format.

Originally launched as a local news website in July 2009, we made the leap into print exactly two years ago with financial support from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Caerffili Cwm a Mynydd Rural Development Programme Partnership.

Editor and publisher Richard Gurner said: “Since we launched our print edition in May 2013, we haven’t looked back.

“Readers tell us all the time how much they love our newspaper and it personally means a lot to me to get such great feedback.

“Saying that, there is always room for improvement and we will continue to grow and develop.

“A lot has happened to our publication in our first two years in print. We now have our own dedicated office space at the amazing Welsh Innovation Centre for Enterprise and we have recently taken on our latest full-time staff member through the Welsh Government’s Jobs Growth Wales Scheme.

“That’s not to mention our two wins at the 2015 Wales Media Awards.

“I’d like to thank all of our readers, our advertisers and our distribution outlets for their amazing support.”
