Residents from sheltered housing got together recently to relive some ‘golden oldies’.

The group singing session was arranged by Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Older Persons’ Housing Team in partnership with Goldies Cymru, part of the Golden-Oldies Charity.

Around 30 tenants from several council-owned sheltered housing schemes met at the Maesteg complex, Pentwynmawr, where they sang and danced to hits ranging from the 1940s to 1980s.

Cllr David Poole, the council’s Deputy Leader said: “This is an excellent example of how the council’s Older Persons’ Housing Team is working to reduce social isolation and improve tenants’ wellbeing.”
