Newbridge will play host to a special celebration of Armed Forces Day on Saturday June 20.
A parade, led by the 203 Welsh Field Hospital and Royal British Legion, followed by a flag raising ceremony will be held in the town centre at 10.30am.
Residents are invited to attend the ceremony, which will feature speeches and poetry from local pupils, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Gwent and the Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough.
Cllr Leon Gardiner, Mayor of Caerphilly county borough, said: “Armed Forces Day provides a fitting opportunity to get together to raise awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and to show our support for all they do. This annual event is always well supported and I would urge residents to line the streets to give a heroes’ welcome to all marching personnel.”
Following the formal proceedings, guests will also be invited to the Newbridge Memorial Hall Ballroom for some refreshments.
