Waunfawr Primary School recently invited Commonwealth 200m sprinter Christian Malcolm and ex-Snooker pro Darren Morgan to join pupils, parents and dignitaries to the official opening of a new games area.

The Multi Use Games Area was paid for with a £38,000 grant from the Marillier Trust.

Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said: “This is a great facility for the school to have been awarded a grant to build.

“I’m sure the pupils will thoroughly enjoy using the gaming area whether it’s in physical education lessons, after school clubs or during their lunch times.”
