Charles and Camilla to visit Oakdale as part of summer visit to Wales

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting Oakdale defence firm General Dynamics as part of their summer visit to Wales

Each summer, Their Royal Highnesses spend a week at Llwynywermod, their Welsh farmhouse near Llandovery in Carmarthenshire, visiting different parts of Wales.

As part of this year’s visit, Their Royal Highnesses will visit a variety of businesses, from Welsh family firm the Village Bakery in Wrexham, where they’ll officially open a new Baking Academy; to Maesllwyni Farm in Penegoes which produces organic lamb; via firms such as fashion designers Charles and Patricia Lester in Abergavenny and General Dynamics UK Limited in Oakdale.

The Duchess, who’s President of the United Kingdom Vineyards Association, will also open a new winery at Ancre Hill vineyard in Monmouth.

Other highlights of the week will include a visit by The Prince of Wales to the SWALEC stadium to meet England and Australia players preparing for the Ashes Test Series, and Their Royal Highnesses visiting the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. His Royal Highness is the Festival’s Patron.

A Clarence House spokesperson said: “The Prince and The Duchess always enjoy their annual summer visit to Wales. They are very much looking forward to engaging with communities in many different parts of the country, and to seeing the rich variety of Welsh enterprise.”

The week-long visit to Wales will take place between July 6 and July 10.
