Caerphilly MP Wayne David has been given a new job in Labour’s Shadow Cabinet.

Mr David has been given responsibility on the opposition frontbench for constitutional and electoral matters.

In addition, Mr David will lead on electoral matters and Parliamentary boundary changes. Mr David will also serve as a Shadow Justice Minister and will continue to assist the Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland in shadowing the Scotland Bill.

Mr David, who recently promised to give a 10% pay rise to charity, will remain a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the acting leader of the Labour Party, Harriet Harman.

He said: “This is a crucial time for the Labour Opposition. I am pleased to have been asked to shadow constitutional issues, which are certain to loom large in the near future.”
