Plaid Cymru councillor Steve Skivens has been elected chair of Penyrheol, Trecenydd and Energlyn Community Council for a third successive year.
Councillor Skivens is the only person in the history of the authority to have been given the honour of serving the public three years in a row.
Cllr Skivens said: “I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity by fellow councillors to serve the community as chair of the community council for another year.
“The community council has had several changes in personnel but has still managed to keep its scheduled work and projects in hand.
“A busy year ahead is expected with concerns over housing developments, traffic issues and congestion and the reducing capability of other government bodies to support our communities.”
Plaid have just been round my door asking residents if they have any issues.
I didn’t vote for them but I am very impressed with this.
I would like to know why and without warning that ALL the street lights in every street in Trecenydd are being switched off…. leaving the whole estate in absolute blackness…. it’s like being in a third world country and having a curfew !!! It’s making it very easy for local thieves to target sheds…cars and homes. Wouldn’t be so bad if they left some lights on… some of us have no choice other than to be out at that time of night… leaving us vulnerable ! It’s rediculous !! Can you please tell me and some very angry residents how long they expect us to just put up with being left in the dark ? Literally .
