Blackwood beach party a success

News | | Published: 17:00, Thursday July 9th, 2015.

An estimated 7,000 people visited Blackwood for the annual beach party on the weekend of June 27 and 28.

Blackwood High Street was transformed with sand filling the road.

But, it wasn’t just sand castles and ice cream on offer for those who attended. The event boasted donkey rides, Punch and Judy shows, swash buckling pirates, daring funfair rides and more.

Cllr Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people return to Blackwood High Street for this year’s beach party.

“The street was full of visitors having fun and enjoying all the fantastic entertainment on offer.

“Events like this present an ideal opportunity to showcase what Blackwood has to offer bringing friends and communities together.”
