A cowboy builder who was jailed for almost four years after defrauding customers of £43,000 has been told his sentence was “firm but fair” by an appeal judge.
Lee Slocombe, 32, originally from Abertridwr, was jailed for 43 months in February this year after pleading guilty to defrauding customers in and around Caerphilly.
He appealed the sentence for being too tough, but was told by Lord Justice Beatson that the sentence was severe but not excessive.
Earlier this year, Newport Crown Court was told how Slocombe started work on properties only to ask his victims for more cash to get the job done. He would then fail to return leaving homes like building sites and requiring further work to put right.
Slocombe was recently featured on Channel 5 programme Cowboy Builders which told the story of his deception.
