Caerphilly AM Jeff Cuthbert has teamed up with Bargoed YMCA to help refugees fleeing persecution and war.
Bargoed YMCA have agreed to become a collection point for clothing and other useful items to be sent to refugees during the humanitarian crisis and local people are being asked to do their bit to help the relief effort.
Jeff Cuthbert AM said: “This is about providing immediate relief for families and children in desperate situations.
“I’d ask anybody who can spare any items to come along to Bargoed YMCA to help refugees in their hour of need.”
Due to the great response from ordinary people, organisers are asking only to bring what is urgently needed. This includes men’s clothes and shoes, children’s clothes, sleeping bags, tents, baby slings and foil blankets.
Items can be taken to Bargoed YMCA Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 3pm.
