A man from Penyrheol has been jailed for 18 months after punching someone at the Irish Tymes pub in Caerphilly town.

Gavin Lee Gabriele, aged 30, of Heol Fawr, Penyrheol, was given an 18-month sentence at Cardiff Crown Court on October 13.

The court was told how Gabriele was arrested and charged with actual bodily harm following the attack at the pub on November 29 last year.

PC Fairclough, of Gwent Police, said: “This is a clear message that violence will not be tolerated in Gwent. Through his actions on the evening of November 29, Gavin Gabriele was put in front of the courts to face the consequences and was brought to justice.”
