Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre in Ystrad Mynach has been praised for its work with pupils’ families.
The special educational needs school is the first one in Wales to get the Investors in Families quality mark for a third time.
The award recognises a school’s commitment to working with families to improve the lives of its pupils.
Trinity Fields was one of the very first schools in Wales to achieve the award in 2007 and gained re-accreditation in 2011.
Its latest Investors in Family report praised the school as an “inspiration”.
The report said: “This is a truly inclusive school. Pupils are nurtured here who would struggle in other settings, they make good progress and nobody is excluded. At the centre of all decisions about school development is the question about what is right for the child.”
Trinity Fields School headteacher Ian Elliott MBE said: “Speaking on behalf of the governing body we are delighted that we have achieved the re-accreditation of the Investors in Families award for the third time.
“We are firmly committed to working in partnership with our families in order that all our children achieve the very best outcomes. Also we would like to thank all of our families who provide invaluable support to us.”
Cllr Rhianon Passmore, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning said: “Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre have once again been recognised for the outstanding contribution that they make to education within the borough. This is testament to the fantastic staff within the school.”
