presents a cheque to Franca Nigro of St David’s Hospice
Elvis was “back in the building” at Caerphilly Indian restaurant Castle Gate recently for a fundraising event for St David’s Hospice.
The dinner was attended by more than 70 guests who enjoyed a hit combination of Indian and Bangladeshi dishes accompanied by live music from Elvis tribute artist, Johnny Elvis. The proceeds from the evening, totalling £1,170 – which included a fundraising raffle – were donated to the Welsh charity.
Ashraful Haque from the management team at Castle Gate restaurant said he was delighted that the event had been such a success.
He said: “We were really pleased that so many people came along and that we managed to exceed our fundraising target of £1,000.
“The community is very important to us at Castle Gate and this event was our chance to give something back.”
The cheque was presented by the restaurant to Franca Nigro, Events and Community Fundraiser for St David’s Hospice who said: “The funds Castle Gate Restaurant has raised will go towards providing specialist palliative care to more than 3,500 patients and families in the community so that they can live their lives to the fullest.
“Not only is it great to have this support for our work, it is also brilliant that everybody had such a good time in the process.”
