Caerphilly Observer is celebrating its third anniversary in print.

Originally launched as a news website in July 2009, we made the leap into print three years ago this edition with financial support from Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Caerffili Cwm a Mynydd Rural Development Programme Partnership.

Editor and Publisher Richard Gurner said: “I can’t quite believe that it has been three years since we launched our print edition – time certainly flies by.

“Readers continually tell us how much they value our newspaper and it personally means a lot to get such great feedback.

“Our quality was recognised this year when we were named Independent Community News Service of the Year at the Wales Media Awards – for the second successive year.

“However, we are always looking to improve what we offer and I would love to hear our readers’ suggestions on what we can do better.

“Finally I’d like to thank all of our readers, our advertisers and our distribution outlets for their amazing support.”
