Police are appealing for information after a dog was stolen from a garden in Pengam on Monday, June 11.

The pug, pictured above, goes by the name of Doug, and is believed to have been stolen by two men in their 20s.

The men were seen walking alongside the wall of the garden between 4.30pm and 5pm on Monday July 11, before one of them entered the garden through a locked gate and took the dog.

The men then continued to walk down Fairview Hill with the dog in arm, and Gwent Police would like to speak to the men in question.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can call 101, quoting log number: 402 11/07/16.

Gwent Police has also issued a reminder to residents thinking of purchasing a dog to ask the breeder for relevant paperwork, and to call the police regarding anything suspicious.
