Police appeal for information after mass break-ins across Caerphilly area

Police are appealing for information following a spate of break ins to houses, sheds and commercial properties in the Caerphilly area throughout July.

Sometime between Friday, July 1 and Monday July 4, a portacabin on Caerphilly Business Park was broken into and approximately £70,000 worth of power tools were stolen. An attempted break in at a second portacabin was also reported on the Business Park. Access wasn’t gained but damaged was caused.

An allotment shed on Woodland Terrace, Senghenydd was broken into sometime between Saturday July 2 and Monday July 4. 30 homing pigeons were stolen from the shed.

A garage on Van Road was broken into sometime between Sunday July 3 and Monday July 4. Nothing was stolen.

An attempted break into a shed on Cwrt Griffin, Rudry, was reported to have occurred sometime between Monday July 4 and Tuesday July 5.

The Piccadilly Pub on Piccadilly Square was broken into on Tuesday July 5. A fruit machine and juke box were damaged, and an attempt had been made to pull a television off the wall. Nothing was stolen.

A shed was broken into on Goodrich Street, Caerphilly, sometime between Tuesday July 5 and Wednesday July 6. Nothing was stolen.

A gym was broken into on Western Industrial Estate sometime between Tuesday July 5 and Wednesday July 6. Items stolen include a heart monitor, whey protein and energy drinks.

A yard was broken into on Bedwas Road on Wednesday July 6. Two vehicles were opened, and fishing equipment and a Volkswagen Touran Turbo engine were stolen.

A shed was broken into on Nantgarw Road on Wednesday July 6. Garden furniture including a parasol, table and chairs were stolen.

A shed was broken into on Bartlett Street on Wednesday, July 6. Tools are believed to have been stolen.

A shed was broken into on Coed Cae sometime between Friday July 8 and Saturday July 9. Nothing was stolen.

A garden shed was broken into on Energlyn Close sometime between 6pm on Friday July 8 and 8.15pm on Monday July 12. Nothing was stolen.

On Wednesday July 13, a man was disturbed opening a garage door on Porset Drive, Castle Park, Caerphilly. Nothing was stolen.

Officers from Gwent Police are advising residents to ensure all doors and windows are kept locked at all times.

Anyone with information relating to these incidents or who sees anything suspicious in their neighbourhood can call Gwent Police on 101.
