Almost 70,000 people have taken advantage of free swimming sessions on offer at leisure centres across Caerphilly County Borough this year, according to the council.
Of these, around 33,000 have been people over 60 who qualify for free swimming sessions as part of a scheme by Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Youngsters aged 16 and under can also enjoy free swimming sessions during school holidays.
Members past and present of the Armed Forces can also swim for free providing they hold the Defence Discount Service Card.
In addition to these three initiatives, the council also holds ‘Free Swim Fridays’ at leisure centres which is open to all.

Caerphilly, Heolddu, Newbridge and Risca leisure centres have all achieved the UK-wide ‘Quest’ award.
Cllr Nigel George, Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure Services said, “Congratulations to the four leisure centres that have achieved this nationally recognised award.
“To be recognised for this prestigious achievement demonstrates how well our leisure centres are being operated by staff that are committed to delivering a quality service for customers.”
