Police appeal after woman assaulted with wooden plank in Tir-y-Berth

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Tir-y-Berth.

At around 9.15pm on Wednesday November 23, a man approached the woman near the top of the steps which lead to William Street, with what is believed to have been a wooden plank.

She was understandably shaken but did not suffer any serious injuries.

The man is described as white, five feet six inches tall, aged in his 30s or 40s, and was wearing a long black trench coat with the hood up, black trousers, and black boots.

He was last seen at the top of William Street in a car park near the chip shop.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident can call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number: 566 23/11/2016.
