Last year, the Patrick Phillips Cup was won by Rosie’s Peacock, ridden by John Mathias.

This year the cup will be presented by Mr Phillip’s brother, who is flying over from his native Dublin especially for the event.

• The Tredegar Farmers’ Hunt Point-to-Point Steeplechases are being held on Sunday May 7 at Rhyd-y-Gwern in Lower Machen from 2pm.
