A community group which raises money to pay for Newbridge’s Christmas lights has teamed up with a school to help find a ‘star’ to switch them on next month.

Tynewydd Primary School and Light Up Newbridge have joined forces to launch the search for the ‘Star of Newbridge’ 2017.
To promote the drive, pupils created a giant star mural using 5p and 10p coins.

Do you know someone locally, of any age, who deserves the title ‘Star of Newbridge’? Perhaps they do a lot for the local community or brighten the lives of those around them?

Whatever the reason is, tell Light Up Newbridge in no more than 100 words why the person you’re nominating should be the ‘Star of Newbridge’.

The chosen star will win a special gift from Light Up Newbridge as well as helping the group at the main switch on event on December 1.

Deadline for nominations is November 17.

Email angels@lightupnewbridge.co.uk or post your nominations to Light Up Newbridge, Newbridge Memo, High Street, NP11 4FH.
