Caerphilly Observer has been shortlisted for Independent Community News Service of the Year in the 2018 Wales Media Awards.
The awards ceremony takes place on Friday,March 23,at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff.
The independent newspaper has won the award three times before and is hoping to make it a fourth consecutive success.
This year,the newspaper is up against Cwmbran Life and Inksplott.
Richard Gurner,Publisher and Editor of Caerphilly Observer,said: “Getting nominated once again for this prestigious award is a huge achievement for us and we are really excited to be in the running.
“We’re a relatively small team,but together we punch way above our weight in terms of our editorial coverage and this has been recognised with our nomination.”
The awards celebrate and promote great journalism in Wales,and the ceremony will be hosted by BBC News presenter Huw Edwards at a gala black tie evening.
