Gwent Police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary on Elim Way in Pontllanfraith on Tuesday October 3 2017.

Gwent Police want to hear from you if you recognise this man

Around 11am, three men visited the address offering to carry out some gardening work for the victim.

The victim was then distracted after one of the men asked to go to the shed to get some tools. During this time, the other two men went into the property and searched for items to steal.

A purse, money, jewellery and bank card were stolen during the burglary.

It is believed that the three offenders then left in a white van, parked further up the road.

The police would like to speak to the man in the photo who may be able to help with their enquiries.

If you know him, or if you have any information, contact Gwent Police on 101 quoting log 155 03/10/17

Perhaps this request should have been closer to the date the burglary actually happened not 6 months later. I can’t remember now a days what I done last week.

Is this an indication of how slowly the police sift through their workload ?
As you say appealing for information 6 months after the event is a complete nonsense.
Clearly the police have lost the true art of investigation.
