Police are urging residents to be vigilant after thefts of domestic fuel on Thursday night.

Thieves targeted central heating oil stored outside residents’ homes in Gilwern, Aberbeeg, Blackwood and Pontllanfraith.

Officers are urging residents to keep their fuel safe and secure, preferably out of sight, in locked locations. People should also use security lights if they have them.

Anyone with information about the thefts should contact Gwent Police on 101.
