Police are investigating reports that a man has been indecently exposing himself to children in Pontllanfraith and Newbridge.

The man, who was wearing shorts, is believed to have exposed himself three times over the past two weeks, Gwent Police said.

The first offence is reported to have taken place in Bryn Fields, Pontllanfraith, on Thursday May 3, followed by two similar incidents in Pennar Lane, and the lane to the rear of Panteg Terrace, Newbridge, on Sunday May 13.

All are said to have taken place between 4pm and 5.30pm, a police spokesman said.

The man was white, aged 30 to 40, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in, and skinny. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black t-shirt, black sweatshirt tied around his waist, black shorts and black trainers.

A police spokesman said: “The male made no attempt to approach the children or engage them in any conversation, but made no attempts to conceal his actions either.

“We would like to reassure the public that we are actively investigating these incidents and have increased police patrols in the area.

“However, we would ask that anyone within this area remain vigilant to their surroundings.”

If you have any information about these incidents call Gwent Police on 101 quoting crime number 368 of 03/05/18, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
