Two men robbed during the early hours of the morning in Gilfach

News | | Published: 11:41, Monday June 25th, 2018.

Police are appealing for information after two men were victims of an armed robbery.

At around 12.40am on Thursday, June 21, the robber approached two men on Commercial Street in Gilfach and demanded money from them. He used what police are describing as a “bladed object” to threaten the two men.

He is described as white, wearing a blue top and tracksuit with a white and blue bandanna wrapped around his head and was in his late 20s. He then made off towards Bargoed High Street.

Police said they would like to stress neither of the victims were harmed during the robbery.

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 15 21/06/2018 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

When will Gwent police realise we need police out pounding the beat, like in the old days. Its no good driving around in cars, we need to see them out and about. I know this happened in the early hours but we dont see constables in the day so imagine they arent about at night. Once again we need to stop spending money on CPOs and council warden types who do absolutely nothing and invest this in our failing police constables.

These Agencies have lost the war on the streets – we are unlikely to ever see bobbies back pounding the beat and these other agencies have no real powers and are therefore making absolutely no impact.
