The event will see Caerphilly Castle transformed into one of combat and siege, with visitors playing an active role

Caerphilly Castle will transform into a scene of combat and siege this weekend as it hosts two days of medieval re-enactment events.

Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12 will see visitors learning archery and sword skills, as well as watching weaponry displays, demonstrations and re-enactments.

Part of Cadw’s Castles Alivesummer campaign, the event is hosted by Bowlore, a medieval archery and weaponry display group based in Somerset.

The small team of family and friends have over twenty years experience in historical re-enactment, with a focus on providing entertainment and education of the medieval period.

No booking is required for the event, but normal site admission applies.
