Driver’s shock after alloys stolen from car in Llanbradach

News | | Published: 09:30, Thursday September 13th, 2018.

A driver has spoken of his shock after thieves left his car on bricks after stealing four alloy wheels worth around £2,000.

Lloyd Bayliss, 24, left his grey Ford Focus ST – which he bought last year for £27,000 – in residents’ parking near his home in Llanbradach, on Thursday, September 7.

The electrician had a rude awakening on the Saturday morning when his partner noticed the wheels were missing – despite the vehicle having locking wheel nuts.

Mr Bayliss said: “I just feet sick and stressed about it. I worked away two years ago in Holland and made a bit of money and came back and thought I would treat myself.

“And this is what I get, so what’s the point?”

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: “At approximately 6.25am on Saturday, September 9, we received reports that four alloy wheels had been stolen from a grey Ford Focus ST, parked in the vicinity of School Street, Llanbradach.

“The offence is believed to have happened between 7pm on Thursday, September 7, and 6am the following morning. Investigations are ongoing.”

Anyone with information can call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log 91 of 8/9/18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
