Mystery surrounds identity of teenager who saved child from Caerphilly Castle moat

Caerphilly Castle will be screening the Six Nations clash between England and Wales
A young boy has been saved after his pram rolled into the moat around Caerphilly Castle

Mystery surrounds the identity of a girl who jumped into Caerphilly Castle moat to save a child whose pram had rolled into the water.

It is believed a teenage girl dived in to save the boy’s life. Her actions have been described as “brave and quick” by a social media user who saw the incident unfold.

Posting on Facebook, the eyewitness said: “I would love to find the young girl who dived in the moat today to save that baby’s life! To say thanks again with out her bravery and quick actions it don’t bare thinking about what could of happened.”

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called on Wednesday, January 2 at approximately 2.05pm to reports of a child in a pram having rolled into water in Caerphilly. We responded with a rapid response vehicle, where a young boy was treated at the scene.”
