Members of Highfield Court Association receive a cheque

A tenants’ social group at a sheltered housing scheme in Newbridge has been awarded £2,000 from Greggs.

The bakery’s charitable foundation awarded the grant in recognition of the work by the group at Highfield Court.

The group organises regular coach trips and activity afternoons.

Ruth Cole, Tenant and Secretary of the Highfield Court Association said: “I would like to say on behalf of tenants at this scheme, that we are all really grateful for this grant.

“The money will allow us to plan and organise a variety of trips with friends in the local community. We should now be able to run five or six trips this year and we are really excited.”
