A 21-year-old man is to appear before Newport Crown Court on July 17 charged with rape.
Zafer Mustecepoglu is alleged to have attacked a woman in the early hours of Saturday, June 15.
The attack is thought to have taken place sometime between 12.30am and 3am when the victim was approached by a man driving a car on Hanbury Road in Bargoed.
Mustecepoglu was arrested on Monday, June 17, and was later charged with rape.
He appeared at Newport Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, June 19 and was remanded in custody to appear before crown court.
