Gwent Police has confirmed that a 53-year-old man died in a car fire in Risca on Monday, August 19.
The car caught fire in Tredegar Park and caused Tredegar Street, Park Road and Station Road to all close.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
In a statement, Gwent Police said: “We have been made aware of a number of members of the public whom attempted to assist during the fire. We are working with our partner agencies to help anybody directly or indirectly affected.”
Alongside Connect Gwent, the police will be holding a drop-in session at Risca Library to offer support, guidance and information.
The session will be held between 2pm and 5pm on Thursday, August 22.
