Man arrested and another in critical condition after Pontygwindy Road motorcycle crash

A man has been arrested and another remains in critical condition following a motorcycle crash on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly town.

Police were called at around 7.40pm on Wednesday, September 11.

A 47-year-old man, from Llanishen, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and failing to stop following a road traffic collision.

He has since been released under investigation and police say enquiries are still ongoing.

The passenger of the motorbike was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A woman, the driver of the car involved, was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The motorbike rider fled the scene after the incident.
