Arrest made after two people shot with air weapon in Porset Park

Two people were shot along the footpath opposite Lon yr Odyn

A man has been arrested after a 74-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man were reportedly shot with an air weapon in Porset Park, Caerphilly.

The incidents happened along the footpath opposite Lon yr Odyn, on Saturday, October 19.

The woman was shot at around 12.50pm, while the man was hit at around 6pm.

The woman suffered back and leg injuries, while the man suffered a neck injury.

Police have since recovered an air pistol and an air rifle.

A 47-year-old man from Lansbury Park has been arrested on suspicion of assault, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm without a certificate.

He has been released under investigation.
