Tributes have been paid to a 40-year-old cyclist from Abertysswg who was killed in a crash near Ebbw Vale.
Paul Heenan, a father-of-two, was hit by a black Peugeot 208 at around 6.07pm on Friday, April 10.
The incident happened on Main Spike Road, on Rassau Industrial Estate.
Mr Heenan was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, and died the following day from his injuries.
A 31-year-old man from the Ebbw Vale area, who was driving the Peugeot, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
He has since been released from custody under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
Paying tribute to Mr Heenan, his family said: “The sudden passing of Paul in such devastating circumstances will leave an emptiness that will never be filled.
“He was a man who was so full of life and love for his family. He was a devoted dad to his five-year-old daughter Olivia and six-month-old son Cody.
“Paul was my childhood sweetheart and we had been together for 22 wonderful years. Our time together may have been short but the happiness we shared together will last a lifetime and Paul will live on in our children.
“As a family we would like to thank everyone that has sent messages of support, we would now ask for some time to grieve together as a family.”
Police are asking any motorists who were using the road at the time to check any dashcam footage they may have to help with enquiries.
