A 15-year-old boy from Caerphilly has been charged with the supply of ecstasy.
He will appear at Cwmbran Youth Court on July 28.
The teen was arrested on April 18, 2019, on suspicion of the supply of class A controlled drugs in connection with the death of Carson Price, 13, of Hengoed.
Carson died on April 12 last year after taking a form of ecstasy known as ‘Donkey Kong’ in Ystrad Mynach Park.
He was found “in and out of consciousness, pale and shaking” and was taken to the University Hospital Wales, Cardiff, where he later died.
A coroner later ruled that Carson, who was a pupil at Lewis School Pengam, died after taking an “excessive” amount of the drug and reacting violently to it.
A vigil for Carson was held at Ystrad Mynach Park six days after his death and was attended by several hundred people, including Carson’s family and friends.
A 22-year-old man, from Caerphilly, who was also arrested on suspicion of the supply of class A drugs, remains released under investigation.
A 21-year-old man, from Caerphilly, who was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug, has been released with no further action.
