Indoor visits to care homes will be allowed in Wales from Saturday, August 29, providing there are no sudden changes to the coronavirus situation.
First Minister Mark Drakeford made the announcement at the Welsh Government coronavirus briefing on Friday (August 21).
Indoor visits to care homes have been banned since March due to Covid-19.
The First Minister also confirm that from Saturday (August 22), up to four households will be able to join together as part on extended household.
Currently, only two households can join together as part of an extended household.
As part of further measures to relax Wales’ lockdown, Mr Drakeford confirmed that up to 30 people will be able to have a meal at weddings or funerals, providing social distancing can be maintained.
Mr Drakeford said: “While coronavirus remains effectively suppressed in Wales and cases continue to fall, the situation in the rest of the UK and further afield is still problematic.
“Coronavirus has not gone away and so, as we move out of lockdown and look to the future, it is important we do this in a careful and cautious way.”
